Understanding Reciprocity

About the Military Families’ Occupational License Reciprocity Program:

 

The Military Families’ License Reciprocity Program helps eligible military families continue their careers when relocating. The program expedites recognition of existing occupational and professional licenses from other states and reduces delays caused by relocation. 

 

Aspire provides the technology, workflows, and customer support that enable military families to apply for occupational licenses and for state boards to review applications quickly and accurately.  Our work helps ensure military families can maintain employment and stability during mandatory moves.

 

Eligibility:

Applicants qualify if they:

  • Hold an active occupational or professional license in the state they are leaving, and
  • Are in good standing with the military, and
  • Are relocating due to military orders as a service member or spouse.

* Note: State-specific criteria may apply.

Restrictions for those who:

  • Do not hold an active license 
  • Have been dishonorably discharged 
  • Missing documentation
